  • Project details: Sponsored by National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant: My overall project entails the development and analysis of integrative computer models to investigate and characterize the molecular events that regulate calcium-dependent reactive oxygen species production from dysfunctional mitochondria in the reperfusion injury paradigm. I worked on the computational model of succinate dehydrogenase kinetics and reactive oxygen species production. This enzyme plays a key role in reperfusion injury, and my work will enable a quantitative and thorough analysis of the biochemical events that occur during this injury. However, my this work is published in Journal of Biological Chemistry.

  • June 2015  to June 2018: Post doc fellow at Marquette University and Medical College of Wisconsin (USA) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, worked in Mathematical/Computational physiology.
  • Project details: Sponsored by National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant: Worked on the mathematical modeling (spatial-temporal) of cardio myocytes electrophysiology and Ca2+ dynamics, incorporating sarcoplasmic reticulum- mitochondria micro domain and crosstalk in signal transduction and energy homeostasis, to study the mechanisms of cardio protective effects of volatile anesthetics (isoflurane). Specifically, I worked on the modelling of cardiac myocyte L-type calcium channel to understand: how both voltage dependent inactivation and calcium dependent inactivation modulate the L-type calcium channel  activity? how isoflurane a volatile anesthetic cardio protective agent, exerts negative inotropic effect on cardio myocyte  by modulating L-type calcium channel possibly by interacting with voltage dependent inactivation  and calcium dependent inactivation ?
